Owuraku Nyamaah
I am a Developer
About
My name is Owuraku Nyamaah, and I am a London-based web developer, product founder, and aspiring EdTech innovator. My journey into technology started far from the UK — in a rural classroom in Ghana. During my national service as a teacher, I watched colleagues spend weeks compiling grades and writing reports by hand. I saw talented educators losing valuable time to repetitive, error-prone processes, and I knew there had to be a better way. With no formal training in software development, I began teaching myself HTML, CSS, PHP, and later Laravel and React, using free online resources. This led to the creation of QuickSBA, a school-based assessment platform that automates grading, report generation, and performance tracking in line with national education policies. Launched in 2020, QuickSBA is now used by over 1,500 teachers across multiple districts in Ghana. It has been piloted and endorsed by school heads, ICT coordinators, and district education officers, and is officially registered as QuickSBA Ltd. The platform has reduced teachers’ termly workload by up to 80%, with Google Analytics showing over 1,000 active users per term during the 2024/25 academic year. Beyond QuickSBA, I have developed and maintained websites for small businesses, helping them establish and grow their online presence. My portfolio showcases both personal projects and client work, reflecting my commitment to building practical, user-focused solutions. I am now working to scale QuickSBA into a SaaS product that can serve schools across West Africa and diaspora communities, while also exploring ways to adapt it for UK-based educational needs. I am committed to continuous learning, contributing to open-source education projects, and collaborating with innovators in the UK’s tech ecosystem.
